Last I check, the fishman was trying to steal the hearts and souls of his loved one as parts of his body decomposed. For those who would rather remember the King of Atlantis in his hey day, check out the cover to the upcoming Brave and the Bold #32.
Or – “Most People Don’t Know That His Full Name Is Manuel Labór.”

So, I have completed my daily labors, overseeing the dozen fellers and gals what make up the current workgroup to call themselves Team RamRod (”See, you’re Arkot Ramathorn… Ram. And I’m Rodney Farva… Rod. Team RamRod!”) and I am preparing to have some spaghetti and hang out with friends, but first I wanted to catch up with some of the many titles that I’ve neglected over the busy last days of August…
RAPID-FIRE REVIEW TIME!
Or – “Of Course I’m Serious. And Don’t Call Me Shirley.”

Oh say can you see…
By the dawn’s early light!
What so proudly we hail…
In the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose bright stripes and broad stars,
In the perilous night…
For the ramparts we watched,
uh, da-da-da-da-da-daaaa…
And the rocket’s red glare!
Buncha bombs in the air!
Gave proof to the night!
That we still had our flag!
Oh say does that flag banner wave,
Over a-a-all that’s free!
And the home of the land…
And the land of the – FREE!
Or – “Persistence Pays Off…”

When Stephen and I were in college, there came Image Comics, a coalition of guys who drew and whose drawings sold comics, they were a huge financial success. In their wake came half a dozen other companies that tried to launch entire comic book universes, all at once, to rake in some of the proverbial phat cash. The Ultraverse. Comics Greatest World. Valiant. To my mind though, the most successful launch came in the form of Milestone comics, a universe that chose to focus on diversity, giving us the adventures of characters of differing colors, creeds, orientations, and what have yous. And of those Milestone characters, my favorite was certainly the teen hero of Hemingway High, the man-boy called Static. Now that the Milestone characters have been absorbed into the mainstream DCU, it seems that we’re finally going to see Static achieve his full potential. Eat that, X-O Manowar, Hardcase and Motorhead!
Well not THE Dr. Horrible, but Neil Patrick Harris will provide the voice for the Music Meister in an upcoming Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode.
The Music Meister—an amalgamation of various DC Comics villains—“has the power to create song wherever he goes, and he’s trying to dominate the world,” Tucker says, before pointing out that the episode’s “plot itself is just the framework, an excuse to have everybody sing!” Tucker and producer/story editor Michael Jelenic wrote five original songs for the episode.
Yes, Batman: The Musical!
