Can’t believe another month has passed and we are about to be inundated with comic book solicitations from the various publishers – but not by those publishers who haven’t added us to the mailing list (you know who you are, and if you don’t, I’m sure the Major Spoilers Legion will contact you and ask you what is up with that).
September looks to be a pretty good month for Dark Horse, with more Buffy, Aliens, B.P.R.D., and Star Wars comics.

Damn Those Frogs!
BPRD has become one of those soap opera comics where characters come and go, and those that readers thought dead return from the dead. It’s also a series that has had some very major arcs, that at times seem disjointed from one another until the doo-doo meets the spinning prop. The Black Goddess series started off as a story yanked from a different time, but by issues end, it all comes together George Peppard style.
With Hellboy II: The Golden Army coming in July, there’s no better time to get up to speed on what’s happening with the characters in the B.P.R.D. Dark Horse will be releasing three new B.P.R.D. titles by Mike Mignola and B.P.R.D. vet John Arcudi into the Hellboy Universe for summer reading pleasure—with new revelations for Liz Sherman and the origin story for Johann Kraus, as well as a bit of backstory for the Bureau’s battle with the infamous frog creatures.
There are changes coming to the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, but that isn’t necessarily a good thing.
Abe’s encounter in Indonesia has brought a new member to the Bureau, and Johann finds himself in possession of a very valuable commodity. The B.P.R.D. will need all of its resources to handle the sinister forces that have wormed their way into the heart of the Bureau itself, blurring the lines between the hunters and their prey!
The next chapter for the Bureau begins August 1.
