Seems you can’t go into a comic book shop, without the face of the President staring back at you. Bluewater Productions has a biography comic headed our way in August 2009, and the company sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Political Power: Barack Obama.

Wow…Scrappy Doo finally get’s his day as Bluewater Productions swipes his catchphrase and uses it as the banner for the upcoming Bo Obama comic book that is part of the company’s Political Power series. I can understand the President Obama and Joe Biden issues, as Obama isn’t getting nearly enough coverage in the comic press, while VP Biden seems to have all but disappeared since October, but the first dog? That’s a new one to me.

The naked physiques of Eva Mendes, Pamela Anderson and Alicia Silverstone have rocked billboards, buildings, and magazines for years as celebs take it off for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Bluewater Productions is also getting into the act with its own “We’d rather go naked than wear fur” campaign.
“We are excited to be part of this national campaign series,” says publisher Darren G. Davis. “To have our characters be the first comic book in this historical campaign is something I am proud of. One of our upcoming comic stories will feature PETA and the fur issue.”
The poster is painted by Azim Akberali and features the 10th Muse, Legend of Isis (both optioned for feature films), Judo Girl and Scarlet. See the full image after the jump.

Bluewater Productions has announced Caroline Kennedy will be the next featured influential woman in the company’s Female Force comic series.
Bluewater chose Kennedy as its next comic book subject before the news broke of her interest in New York politics. “She was on the short list before all the hype about the Senate seat. She is an amazing person who has done a lot for education,” said publisher Darren G. Davis.
“I hope readers enjoy my rendition of one of the most influential families in political history,” said artist Vinnie Tartamella.
The issue is expected to be in stores in June, 2009.

Bluewater Productions has announced it will have a special one-shot collector’s edition of William Shatner Presents in time for Free Comic Book Day. Included in the anthology is an original prologue story from the upcoming Tek War series.
This 12-page prequel takes place 4 years before the initial storyline. The story centers on protagonist Jake Cardigan’s arrest and conviction for murder as well as Tek trafficking. The story also leaves several clues as to important plot points that will happen in the series. We get an insiders look at the Tek War universe and the history behind Jake’s troubled past.
I knew William Shatner was the mind behind Tek War, but I did not know Quest for Tomorrow and Man O’ War were also inspired from this acting legend. Stories from those two series will also appear in the FCBD edition. While William Shatner will be producing and editing eachof the series with Craig Nevius, there will be specific writin teams for each series.
The complete breakdown of the issue can be found after the jump.
