Now I’m hooked on Batgirl art, and I discovered this piece by Ty Romsa.
After reading the most recent Batgirl issue, my mindset is different interpretations of the hero. Viet Nguyen whipped out this quick sketch that works really well, especially on the mask, allowing plenty of room to see.

Stephanie Brown’s first night in the new Batgirl uniform, and when you’re sanctioned by the original, there’s bound to be some conflict – and a big bad at the end of the level.
Is this where the new Birds of Prey begins?

Love it or lump it, Stephanie Brown is the new Batgirl, but she’s still got one more person to convince before the job is officially hers.

Wondering what’s next for Stephanie Brown? DC released the cover for the upcoming Batgirl #5, and I sure hope Stephanie has a parachute tucked away in that new costume she’s sporting.

While you were busy looking at Tom Welling’s version of the Superman costume, we stumbled upon this image, of what might be a new design for the Stephanie Brown Batgirl costume. Many have already remarked that Stephanie continuing to wear the Cassandra Cain costume doesn’t feel right, so perhaps this Lee Garbett design will work. It does combine the Spoiler/Batgirl costume nicely.
And if that doesn’t fit with your world view, take the jump to see what DC posted on its blog this morning..

For those who didn’t get their issue of Batgirl #1 yesterday (some of us live in the middle of nowhere, and won’t get it until today at the earliest), the mystery girl behind the mask was revealed.
Take the jump to see for yourself, and then shout out your rage, support, or indifference.

Readers have been waiting for Batgirl #1 to hit stands so we can all find out who the next Batgirl is under the cowl. Well you aren’t going to find out in this sneak peek that DC released, but it should give you something to look at until August 19, 2009 arrives.
Warner Bros. and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution announced at the convention that the company is adding three new motion comics to its roundhouse of titles. First out of the gate is Superman: Red Son, and starting today, you can download the first episode for free (http://tinyurl.com/SmanRedSonPR). New full-length episodes are expected to hit the iTunes store on a weekly basis.
Readers/viewers can also check out Batgirl: Year One and the second collection of Batman: Black and White.

In this issue: The Major Spoilers Crew chats up Captain America, ponder who is to be the next Batgirl, take a look at olde tyme lingerie, slip back to the days when Earth fell apart, marvel at young tykes with super powers, and discuss Vertigo’s Y: The Last Man Volume 1 Deluxe hardcover by Brian K. Vaughan.
Show Notes after the Jump!

With DC switching up the who’s who in the Batman universe, the final question on many people’s minds is, “Who is the new Batgirl?” Dc has been teasing readers for weeks with publicity images, but today, we’re giving you the chance to cast your vote on who you think is under the Batgirl cowl.
CHOOSE!
The speculation is going to ramp up again following the latest Batgirl cover sneak.
Who’s it going to be?
This week on the Major Spoilers Podcast, the crew is welcoming Atomic Robo artist Scott Wegener to the show. While I want to feature one of his Atomic Robo sketches, I was more taken with this Batgirl sketch.

Cassandra Cain suit, but it doesn’t look like Cassandra Cain in the suit – at least not from that pose and smirk on the face.
Batgirl #1 arrives in August.

I think during this whole Art Appreciation Moment of the Day experiment we’ll be seeing a lot of Adam Hughes work. Not just because I think he’s an awesome artist, or that he draws some of the most attractive women around, but that he can take those two and come up with an interesting twist that makes you smile.
A Batgirl convention sketch, from MegaCon, a few weeks ago. This is the second one I had to do for Ben Defeo, as I mistakenly gave the FIRST Batgirl to someone else (who also ordered a Batgirl). That’s why there’s a hint of color in this one; I’m Johnny Screw-up.
Convention sketch on Strathmore Sketch Paper, 11″ X 14″, pencil, Pitt Pen, and Copic Marker. And regret.
