I really thought the adventures of Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter were over, but apparently there are still three issues left in the Guilty Pleasures arc. Marvel has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of the latest issue that arrives March 5, 2008.
October is all about zombies at Marvel, and we’ve already seen the two zombie variants for Ms. Marvel and Howard the Duck. Now Marvel has released the Ron Lim zombie variant for Anita Blake - Vampire Hunter: The First Death #2.

I’ve been a fan of Ron Lim for something in the neighborhood of 20 years, so I think it is cool Marvel has hired Lim to do the art for Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter.
“We’re excited for fans to see the nuances of Laurell’s exciting world brought to life by Ron Lim,” said Marvel President & Publisher Dan Buckley. “We’ve enjoyed working with Brett Booth and wish him the best in his future endeavors. Just as Brett brought his own unique energy to this series, Ron will leave his own indelible mark on the series that continues to bring lots of new fans into comic stores. We’re just as excited as all the readers to experience more exciting stories of everyone’s favorite Vampire Hunter!”
Ron joins the series with issue #8 that arrives in 2008. Take the jump for some sketches of the main characters as envisioned by Lim.
Marvel announced Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures Volume 1, has sold at at the distributor level. You know the rest, Marvel is going back to press with new printings, but this time instead of one variant cover, Marvel is offering two, giving fans a choice between Anita or Jean on the cover.
There is a caveat - these variants will not be available at traditional bookstores, but rather only at the direct market comic book store.

Here is something that comes as a complete surprise. Marvel sent out a press release this morning announcing it has “concluded its relationship” with Dabel Brothers Productions.
Fans of Anita Blake Vampire Hunter know the Dabel Brothers brought the high selling title to Marvel back in 2006, and it has been a hit, getting new readers into stores. Instead of Dabel Brothers Productions keeping its many titles including Hedge Knight, Tales of Alvin Maker, and Wryms, Marvel will continue to produce these titles. There was never any official word on the exact nature of the Dabel/Marvel deal, so who knows why Dabel Brothers would turn the rights to these properties over to Marvel outright.
The press release is really vague about the specifics, but due to the nature of the announcement something is up.
Dabel Brothers Productions is currently working on its next series of books that is slated for release in 2008.

Dabel Brothers Productions has announced Brett Booth will make an appearance at Wizard World LA. The reclusive artist’s latest work has been on Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures and to help promote the sold out series, has agreed to sign and sketch for fans.
“We’ve been friends with Brett for years, but we’ve always had trouble talking him into attending a convention, despite the fact that fans are always begging us to bring him,” laughed Les Dabel, Vice President of Dabel Brothers Productions. “We’re thrilled that he’s agreed to come and help promote the Anita Blake series just as it begins to achieve critical mass, and we’re sure that Brett’s fans will be as excited as we are to see him attend this year’s first WizardWorld convention!”
Marvel has also sent along a five page preview of Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures #5.
Marvel and the Dabel Brothers have announced Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter in Guilty Pleasures issue #1 will be going back to press for a third printing after all. In addition, issue #3 will receive a second printing.

Marvel Comics has let us know that Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter in Guilty Pleasures #1 2nd pring has sold out. Lots of Anita Blake fans must be jumping on board, which have pushed sales over 60,000 copies. Further, issue #2 has sold out, and issue #3 is very close to selling out as well.

Marvel Comics let Majors Spoilers know that because Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter in Guilty Pleasures #1 and #2 have sold out, the company have moved the release of issue #3 back one week to allow retailers to order more copies. The debut issue ranked 67th in the top 300 titles shipped in October according Diamond Comics Distributors.
