And this issue ain’t nothin but a convenient way of wrapping up loose plot points with a convoluted resolution

I’m not a violent man, but I do like a good action sequence. Indiana Jones fighting hordes of Nazis and coming out with nary a scratch, Jean Claude kicking the snot out of a bar full of rednecks without breaking a sweat, or even The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling giving each other a smack down week after glorious week all make for good times. Of course I know none of this stuff is real. If Dr. Jones, Van Damme, or even the GLOW gals were to actually do the things they pretend, they’d be reduced to bloody balls of flesh in moments. If I can dismiss all of this as fantasy and fun, why then does it bother me to no end that the Everyman storyline is wrapped up in a neat tidy package?

Just when you think you have a spare moment to sit down and write a well thought out review, some little thing you place in the back of your mind and forgot about pops up demanding attention. Thus I missed last week’s 52 review, but I’m making up for it now. Maybe I should have made this a Major Spoilers Retro Review…
DC Comics has provided Major Spoilers a breakdown of the trade paperbacks scheduled to ship this summer. If you are looking for something to keep you occupied while on flights to and from conventions, or to read while you are hiding away from the intense heat, there look to be some good titles on this list, including the second volume of DC’s 52.
Today is the day my weekly comic shipment arrives at the door (thanks Collector’s Pair of Dice!), and while waiting anxiously, I took a moment to check the Major Spoilers stats in Alexa. Check out the Page Views stats for today and tell me there is no such thing as coincidence…
I’m totally impressed everyone is taking the time to read the articles and sift through the site. 52 page views per user! That’s incredible (hint hint all you would be advertisers)!
52 also seems to be the number of hours I need in the day to get everything done. I’m going to plead Mea Culpa here. I’m right in the middle of four major weekly video productions, and combined with my other jobs, I’ve fallen a bit behind this week. Fortunately, by Sunday everything should be back to some level of normalcy and I’ll be cranking out even more news, reviews, and interviews that you have come to expect from this little website I call Major Spoilers.

Just let him die already…Please?
I’m a bit late in getting this week’s review of 52 out. I could blame the whole “time is broken” and really claim this review went up Thursday last week, but I’ll be honest and say time has just got the better of me. Sometimes the drudgery of the real world gets in the way of having fun and reading comics and we get all wound up the running around leaving us breathless. Not in a good way either; leaving me feeling a bit uncomfortable, kind of like Vic as he struggles to stay alive.
DC Comics set the Interweb all a twitter last week when it released a starteling image of an upcoming event. I’ve seen the high resolution version and have posted a few close ups for your inspection, reflection, and comments.
Major Spoilers Ahead!
You’ve been warned!
Major Spoilers received the following cryptic image from DC Comics. No other information was included except for the above title, but it does seem to indicate something disastrous has happened in the DCU. Fallout from 52 maybe?
Warning: Major Spoilers!
Seriously, I mean it!

Booster Gold Returns!
As much as I have loved reading 52 and making speculations throughout, it is often good know at least one of my wild speculations have paid off. This week offers three big reveals that are really not that big of a surprise if you have been following closely. The first is a no-brainer (look at the subhead), the second is a relief, and the third has been sitting in front of your face for at least six months. If you don’t like Major Spoilers, turn back now!

Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Sun Eaters
Week 36 is one of those weeks where a lot of questions get partial answers, a hero falls, and Supernova is Ray Palmer. It can’t be that simple, can it? You guessed it. Major Spoilers ahead…

Why are you standing around? Get inside!
What better way to greet the new year than by watching hundreds of people plummet to their death? What? That isn’t how you ring in the good times? Whatever…
And “Whatever” is kind of how I feel about this week’s installment of 52.
While I have no problem writing Best Of and Top Ten lists, this is my first year coming up with a Best Of list for comics, and it has been a real challenge. First there is the whole “thousands of titles out there” deal, then there is the fact that these kinds of lists are a touchy subject to write. What may be on my Best Of list, is on the @$$ List for someone else. Regardless, it’s time to look back over the year and see what was tops when it came to comics.

5…4…3…2…1…
It has been a strange year for the DCU, first many of the major superheroes have disappeared leaving second stringers to pick up the slack. One was in it for the fame and fortune, while another appeared on the scene wrapped in mystery. A dictator got married and softened, while a former president created new heroes with his Everyman Project. It was also a year where a tormented hero began a quest to find the answers, while cancer tore through one who asks a lot of questions. As the final seconds tick down to the New Year, an optimistic outlook is not expected.

Happy Holidays
It’s a winter wonderland in the DCU. Carolers are caroling, snow is falling, gifts are exchanged, and it is generally a good moment for all.

Is Ralph Dead?
A cryptic message highlights this week’s installment of 52. Ralph and the helmet of Dr. Fate are still seeking answers to life after death, which ultimately lead to the mystic city of Nanda Parbat.
