The answer will hopefully be revealed on February 4, 2009.

Pfft, as if Marvel would give Monica that much respect.
Well said, Dr. Bolty!
Who?
Jacin B’s presumed sarcasm aside….Monica Rambeau was the second Captain Marvel, later known as Photon. The one-time Avenger later became part of Warren Ellis’ NextWave and had a very brief “thing” with T’Challa.
Maybe all of these women will take turns being the Black Panther like that cool Mystery of the Batwoman cartoon that came out a few years back???
What happened to the previous Black Panther? I’m out of the loop. Last I saw him, he was doing the Fantastic Four shtick.
Im down with her being the Black Panther only because it would be awesome for NextWave to come back and they can all hang out in the palace and get drunk and fight dinosaurs
ANYTHING to bring back Nextwave.
But if she is the new Panther, then I want the guy that ran around with a puppet on his hand as her arch-nemesis…..um…what was his name…….Achebe! Yes, bring him back.
Is PHOTOSHOP PHRIDAY the new Black Panther?
Could the New black panther be a lolcat ?
Geez marvel! they’ve already given us over 9000 people who could be the next Black Panther!!!
Someone photoshop Stephen or Rodrigo in as the next Black Panther!
M0AR N3XTW@VE PLZ! KTHXBAI!!!
Sorry… somebody mentioned lolcats, and what deserves lolcatting more than NEXTwave??? (which I love as much as Watchmen, so, like, don’t see this as a putdown.)
Maybe it’s those frogs again, and they just changed T’Challa’s gender.
Which Quesadas the Storm/T’Challa marriage…
Mark my words.
All,
Keep in mind that Monica was part of the “Super Team” or “Black Avengers” rumored to resist Tony Stark during Civil War. While this team never came to fruition, Monica along with Sue Storm were in Black Panther Civil War issues. She appears in several issues of Black Panther, written by Mr. Huddling and is lectured by T’challa that she has more to offer the world than she has presented in the past. While it may seem outlandish to hope, it would be quite a pleasant surprise for this BRILLIANT character to have another legacy in the Marvel Universe other than Photon.
