Re Ambush Bug:

"It’s scattershot, occasionally funny, but it disposes with Go Go Chex, who was ostensibly our big villain. I have no idea what’s going on here" -- Yeah, that was Countdown all over. Jason Todd coming to life, creation and disposal of The Jokester, disposal of the Trickster, who was part of one of the better storylines (and who was also one of Giff's characters; remember, mandatory death warrant on all of Keith's characters) I found it a very accurate parody of Countdown to Final Crisis, right down to the lovely, nose-cola inducing "We forgot we were in a company-wide crossover!!!" -- ayupyup.

In case you wanted to see it, here's the Superman cover I mentioned:

He looks like a doughy guy in a Superman costume at a Halloween party.

I'll preface this by saying THIS IS MY OPINION.

OK, here we go. I quote from the review: "A gorgeous Frank Quitely cover." Please, someone explain to me what is so great about Quitely. Look at that cover. His women (and not just here, always) look like they're somewhere in the 70-90 year old range. Look at the cover of All-Star Superman where Supes is hiding behind a corner holding a gun. His male heroes look like they're wearing adult diapers cranked up to their nips. Everyone looks like they're senior citizens, and ugly, pudgy senior citizens at that.

Please, someone explain the Quitely lovefest to me, 'cuz I just ain't seein' it.

That's what BMB does with New Avengers, one month it's full of great character development and dialogue ... the next well ... you know.

All the Nova issue did was make me really miss when the old New Warriors run. How hard would it be to put this band back together?

Terribly hard, since there seems to be a pervasive thought at Marvel that the Warriors were a joke... I don't know why, since they were pretty damned entertaining for a lotta years, but, there you go.

New Avengers does NOT deserve 4 stars. They should have just pulped the whole series.

In your opinion... I liked this issue. It humanized Ms. Marvel, crystallized Spider-Woman, gave me some Mockingbird action (although I wish they'd come to a consensus as to which costume she's wearing) and put Luke Cage in a terrible position... I'm sure I'll hate it again in a month or two.

Hellblazer 250 was really good - I just hope that Peter Milligan is up to the task of writing this title. The first storyline doesn't look too promising being tied to labor unions (yeah, not exciting at all).

Iron Fist is deteriorating BADLY. As I predicted. Thanks again Joke Quesada!

I love Mike Allred's art. But he's certainly not as good a writer.

Theoretically, Planetary will be out by May.

Also, FYI: It was not Warren Ellis who "wrote" Ex Machina's comic book, but Garth Ennis.

FYI, David Lafuenta draws the Hellcat miniseries, not Stuart Immonen (who drew the covers).

@Matthew

I found myself stepping away from Dark Reign to breathe while reading it. Specifically due to the ass-tastic artistic rendering of Namor.

Also, IIF #21 was the first issue in the run that made me go "mehhhhhhhhhhh". However I'm not bailing yet. I have a deep, dark man crush on Daniel Rand-Kai
