I'm not saying he looks like David Tennant. I'm just saying the age, body type, facial structure, hair aren't the usual departures we usually get. Obviously, Paterson Joseph would be the biggest divergence of appearance since Hartnell regenerated into Troughton. It would definitely be an interesting take to see how his Doctor could just talk his way into taking charge during adventures set in the past. Not knowing either actor's work, I can't really comment on which would be a better choice.
