The biggest failiing of the issue for me, though, isn’t even a failing of the issue itself, it’s the feeling of “This doesn’t even matter in a few months, anyway…” The Lame Duck aspect of Legion Volume 5 has even me wondering if I shouldn’t just give up and wait for the inevitable relaunch that will come after Legion of 3 Worlds.

A couple of things about that.

First, I wouldn’t quite call the relaunch ‘inevitable’. I mean, sure, DC’s not going to leave the Legion alone forever. But it could be a long time before anything happens. I say you should savour the Legion comics that there are while we have them.

Second, a comic book shouldn’t have to ‘count’ to be enjoyable. You like it, don’t you? Then it counts as a comic book that you like.

Seriously, I have enjoys legion far more than the Archie Legion. I completely agree with your sentiments that this is a lame duck story because in a few months they may not count anymore.

I would like to make one suggestion to any DC higher up who happens to read this. If you follow the pre-crisis Legion , suggest that you continue with the continuity and creat a separate title “Tales of the Legion of Super Heroes” volume II or “Legends of the LSH and retell the 30 years of continuity based upon the original stories but moderately updated. Throw some new talent on those issues so that they can practice their skills and work on their technique. It does not even have to be linear storytelling, it could be like the former Legends of the Dark Knight and tell tales out of order, but remain in the past possibly a companion book to assist with the main book.
Considering the large cast, an anthology setting may be the best for introducing new readers to this complex title a series of oneshots and 2-3 bokk arcs.
No matter whatwould like the DC cats to consider this idea.

Until Ultra Boy has a foursome with Duo Damsel, make mine Majorilers.
