Because it does a little bit of everything and it does it all well. If you're a Spider-man fan, Invincible has the humor and the soap opera elements. Like Teen Titans? Try the Teen Team, instead. While I love Mark Grayson, what I love about this book is all of the secondary characters are well-rounded, with motivations that aren't all obvious, well-thought out backstories and (most likely) well-thought out futurestories. Why should someone read Invincible? That's not the question. Why isn't everybody already reading it? That's what I can't figure out. Why read Invincible? It is essentially the story of a superman character told in a spiderman format; or more succinctly: a DC hero as written by Marvel; and yet it is free of all the current bureaucracy limiting the creativity within the big two at the moment.
