Major Spoilers DK2 Contest Announced! Enter and Win!

Okay everyone, here it is; the latest Major Spoilers Contest!
The prize? This lovely limited edition Dark Knight 2 Statue from 2001. It’s a great representation of two of the characters from the Frank Miller series, and can be yours if you are willing to work for it.
So what do you have to do?
Take the jump and find out!
Okay, this contest is all about helping to promote Major Spoilers.
First, download and print out the following image:
It fits nicely on regular paper (8.5″ x 11″), however it looks really great on glossy photo paper (extra points).
Next, take the mini-poster and get your picture taken, holding the sign, with one of the following:
- The manager of your local comic book shop (the comic book shop must be in the background). Bonus points if the manager hangs the mini-poster in a prime location in the shop.
- Someone famous. We’re talking celebrities, comic creators and artists, Playboy Playmate, and so on. It has to be someone well known. Sorry, but the thespian who only does local theater in your small town doesn’t count.
- A really hot girl in a bikini - or for the female readers out there - a really hot guy in his swim trunks. Yes, it may sound sexist, but it’s summer time and we’re trying to make this contest as interesting as possible.
NOTE: You MUST ask permission to have your photo taken with one of the above people, and the Major Spoilers mini-poster must be viewable in the shot (do not cover anyone’s face).
Finally, send the image (800×600 pixels minimum - larger preferred) to podcast@majorspoilers.com. Include your full name, mailing address, etc in the email. If you take your picture with the manager of your local comic book shop, please include the name and address of the comic shop as well as the manager’s name. The promotion works both ways, the shop promotes us, we’ll promote the comic shop.
The images will appear on the Major Spoilers site, hence the need to obtain permission first.
NO PHOTOSHOPPING ALLOWED! Please be honest in this contest. We are trying to promote the site in this contest and someone who Photoshops the image onto a photo does nothing to spread the word.
UPDATE: You CAN enter more than once - providing you are posing with someone different in each picture. I know of one person who is entering 5 times based on his visit to San Diego Comic Con

All entries must be received by August 31, 2008 (plenty of time to get pics at a certain major comic convention coming up soon - nudge nudge wink wink). The winner will be selected randomly from all entries on September 2, 2008 during the Major Spoilers Podcast.
This contest is open to residents of North America only (sorry rest of the world, but shipping outside the U.S., Canada, and Mexico is really expensive for a prize of this size).

I don’t know anyone famous but i know my comic book store owner and some hot fire fighters That i could get a picture taken with.

Havent got a local comicshop, besides i cant win that oh-so fabulous prize (I live in Europe), il jus have to contribute in some other way then wont i…. Dont want to keep ya in suspense but im gonna deliver on that last promise.

Stephen, how about some form of international contest? It could be less regular than your Nth American affairs and perhaps be a prize of lesser value, but it still would influence more foreign awareness of this fabulous site. I know the Nth American restriction is the shameful reason why I am not entering this competition.

Does the famous person have to be living? And what exactly constitutes famous? Could they be locally famous, or a person or internationally renowned?

Jon: They have to be living (no wax statues) and they need to be worldly renowned - no local theater major that hasn’t done anything outside your small town. AND NO PICTURES WITH YOU AND YOUR JACK BURTON ACTION FIGURE! That will result in instant disqualification :D However, if you get a picture with you and Kurt Russell - the real kurt russell - and you are both holding the Major Spoilers Mini-Poster, you’ll go to the front of the line. Bonus points if you get him to autograph the poster and donate it to the site for a give-away :D

My guess is most people will get a picture with their LCS manager as that is the easiest way to enter. But I’m hoping someone will get a picture with somebody famous…

well, i’m in canada, and in your podcast you said the contest was open to all of north america, so i am in. but, if i ever win, i’ll gladly help with the shipping cost. still gonna be cheaper than buying the thing.
and yes it’s gonna be my comic book shop manager.

What if the entrant is, himself, famous?
I mean, I know that Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, Speed Racer) is a big comic book geek … if he takes a picture of himself with the poster, say with Adrienne Palicki (also from Friday Night Lights, preferably in a bikini) does he automatically win … ?

i saw it on jobboom.com (i think) a couple of years ago. and i’m seeing it in the program of a film festival (fantasia festival) here in montreal, a publicity about a dvd video store.

That’s the thing Dezi, we haven’t received any yet! This is a huge contest with a great prize, and it is so easy to enter and win, I don’t know why there aren’t more people jumping on board.
