Sometimes I really wish I could wait for the TPB but I need my fix every month and Captain America is near the top of that list. What is so special about this book is that it may be called "Captain America" but it is really a complex relationship piece. Captain America has been dead for a year and really, in this title, he hasn't been missed. The characterization of Bucky, Falcon, Sharon, and especially the villains (Red Skull/Lukin, Sin, Faustus, and even Arim Zola!!!) have made this a must read. No other book currently on the market in the super hero genre comes close to the fantastic interactions and depth of character that Cap achieves each month. Really, it puts the rest of the genre to shame month after month.

Well, Marvel can thank Major Spoilers for getting me hooked on Captain America. I started with that title, but only in TPB. So Marvel you can get that, but I did find places online much less expensive. I am loving the book though and love it more with TPB, no adds, and no waiting for month after month.

I have to agree with you on the art. Epting needs to learn how to sharpen those pencils faster or something, since his return to prominence on Captain America that guy is a superstar in my eyes. Other than that I loved this issue, and agree with you (yet again, ugh) on the pacing and feel of this series. It is sometimes easy to forget that Steve Rogers has been dead so long, and bravo to Marvel for keeping it that way (at least until the movie rolls out, gotta have that tie-in). Overall my feelings are the same as yours but i would give it 4 out of 5... just cuz Sharon Carter is that BA!

"The promised battle between Caps has me looking forward to next issue, and hoping that, by some miracle, Jack Monroe might return from his seeming death to confront HIS ex-partner. Not gonna happen, I know, but a man can dream."

You and me both. I've been hoping Jack Monroe will return for quite awhile now.
