Dammit. Dixon's return had me buying books I haven't in a while, and enjoying them as well. And for all the flack he'd gotten previously from fans about his opinions on homosexuality in media (which I disagree with but still like his writing) it seemed like the fans were behind his work since coming back. At least we got Steph back. Still, dammit.

I've read a lot of chatter on other sites about this. A lot of people are thinking it has to do with Batman R.I.P. and the direction Grant Morrison is forcing the Bat-books towards. Also, a lot of people rail against this idea arguiing that Dixon must have already written his tie-in issues already. From what I can gather, he's not solicited as writing any tie-in issues.

Time/Warner must REALLY hate their comics division. It's almost like they only keep DC afloat so that they can make Batman movies.

It's sad when solid, dependable writing that comes in on time and is popular with readers is not wanted by DC editorial. Maybe if he included obscure references to DCU trivia instead of a plot or was concerned with proving to us readers how smart he is he'd have a job...

This is too bad. I was really enjoying his work on the new Outsiders series. It's one of my guilty pleasure books...
