Totally agree on cloth on top, but remember he is always attacking from behind, in the dark and with a bigass cape.

Lifeisaglitch:

No, I want Batman to look something like he does in the comics. When you're making a multimillion dollar movie based on a property, I don't think it's too much to ask that it look within hailing distance of the property. I understand that you make changes when you're switching mediums, but why does Hollywood insist on changing so much 90% of the time?

Besides, Batman is much spookier to the criminal classes if NO ONE KNOWS that he's wearing body armor. Having him this obviously protected just advertises "vulnerable human underneath". Imagine if he was wearing a cloth outfit on top of that armor. It would add an air of mystery to him because no one would know how he was pulling off those amazing feats. And Batman is all about being mysterious.

I long for a day when the moviemakers design a Batman costume that looks like Batman instead of Robocop. The wonderful simplicity of Batman's outfit is lost in all the extraneous detail they added.

The one thing, though, is that TDK seems to very much NOT be a movie for kids. Let alone murderous psychopathic guy in clown make-up. Did you see that leaked image of Two-Face? Talk about nightmarish.... I'm glad it's going to be dark, but I hope they don't try to market it too fiercely to kids.

On the flipside it looks like he could take some damage with that suit...as opposed to every single other iteration of it...almost.
