You shatter the verisimilitude of such storylines when most of the surrounding books ignore it completely (see WORLD WAR HULK) or pay it only passing lip-service ("Superman: Last Son", anyone?). “Anyone else think that the Secret Invasion tie ins are getting a bit much now!”

This is what should happen ANY time there’s a major aliens-take-over-the-world scenario in a shared-universe setting. You shatter the verisimilitude of such storylines when most of the surrounding books ignore it completely (see WORLD WAR HULK) or pay it only passing lip-service (”Superman: Last Son”, anyone?).
