Could Lori Lemaris be the love interest to replace Lana Lang in the next Season of Smallville?

We’ve already been introduced to Smallville’s version of Aquaman, so another underwater character wouldn’t be too much of a shock. But talk about jumping the shark – or mermaid in this case.
If you need further convincing; consider Lori Lemaris is another character with the initials LL.

If Lana isn’t going to be in the next season much, why not just have Clark’s inevitable relationship with Lois start up?
Isn’t she still dating Ollie Queen? I haven’t seen any episodes this season, so I’m a bit behind.
Gotta love the double ‘L’ mythos. A few months ago Superman Confidential did a Lori Lemaris type run I think.
Metropolis was submerged and magic turned all the citizens to mere-people.
BTW – did you read the essay from Michael Chabon in the New Yorker. I posted it on my blog, but you
MANY more readers than I do.
