After a week of voting by You, the Legion of faithful Spoilerites, the winner to the third annual Major Spoilers Costume Contest is announced. Congratulations go out to Devin Harrigan who entered his Atomic Robo creation. Devin not only wins the bragging rights to count himself as a champion at cosplay, but he also picks up Iron Man wall-art from Fat Head.com.

OK, quick walk though of the processes on the head (which is repeated in the body)
The mold is made than its covered in poster board
on top of that two layers of cardboard
then a layer of hot glue
Necessary bits are removed, and details are added.
Later I did a layer of Drywall compond to help smooth it out but i don’t have pics of that.
I used el wire to light the molded Plexi-glass eyes
The hands are mostly made out of comic backs (a wonderfuly cheap souce of card stock) each finger section is three hand drafted and cut pieces
I also hunted down, and bought the military gear for the lower body
The last pic is the mold for the upper body
As I neared the end, I was working on it in a dead head on run up to World Con, and didn’t have the time to document it. It was so bad i actually had to finish sanding and painting in the hotel at the con its self.
