According to a myriad of rumor sites, Rupert Evans has been offered the part of Superman in the Justice League film. Evans had previously tried out for the role for Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns. You may remember Evans as the assistant to Hellboy in the Hellboy movie.
Awaiting confirmation.

Not knocking the guy’s acting skills, but he’s like 5 foot 8. Unless you’re going to stand him on boxes like Alan Ladd, that’s just bad casting.
Umm… Why don’t they use Tom Welling. He’s been playing Clark for so long that a lot of people picture him as the Big Blue Boyscout.
It might be nice to see him rewarded for that. His pic of big screen movies hasn’t exactly been epic…
I know he’s contracted for Smallville, but think of the cross-publicity!
Oh well, I’ll get flamed from some Tom-Hater for thinking he can act, and flamed from some Tom-Fan Girl for not screaming his praises from the mountain top.
Love him or Hate him, he’s lasted 7 years on Smallville. That’s pretty good.
Okay, if Routh and Welling won’t do the deed, why doesn’t anyone roll back the clock and try to get Dean Cain for the part? A little makeup, a couple hours in the gym, and I’m sure he’ll be good to go again.
Hell, at the rate things are going I’m having a hard time believing this movie will actually be any good.
