For months the Intardwebz rumors have been flying as to who will be joining the cast of Kenneth Branagh’s Thor movie. While we’ve known Chris Hemsworth will be Thor, and Tom Hiddleston and Natalie Portman will play mortals, the Asgardians have been kept secret. That is until yesterday’s announcement that Sir Anthony Hopkins will be growing his facial hair out to play Odin, Thor’s father, and ruler of Asgard.

But what about Brian Blessed then?
YES!! To me, this is a perfect choice. It also pretty much locks DeNiro down as Hogan the Grimm… if he’s in the film at all, I guess.
Holy crap… Uh, I mean, crappeth!
Talented, venerable….But all i can think is: I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti fvfvfvfvfv!
…Wait a second…Loki trickster, tied to a rock as punishment by Odin…Prometheus trickster, tied to a rock as punishment by Zeus “HIS LIVER EATEN BY EAGLES!”
ZEUS IS HANNIBAL! ODIN IS ANTHONY HOPKINS! ZEUS IS ODIN! ANTHONY HOPKINS IS HANNIBAL…Well in 3/5 movies anyway…
Hopefully Brian Blessed will still get a role – he would make an awesome Volstagg.
