The rumor mill is running wild following a flurry of name drops and what ifs that came out of H’wood this past weekend. The latest is the rumor that Jackie Earle Haley (Bad News Bears, Watchmen, and Freddy Krueger) is up for the role of Sinestro in the upcoming Green Lantern movie. I can see the Haley as Sinestro, although he is a tad on the short side, and I was really expecting someone like Willem Dafoe or a Jude Law type to fill the part.
And since we are on big on rumors this morning, it sounds like Warner Bros. might also be trying to get a Superman cameo in the film as part of the whole “it worked for Marvel, let’s make it work for us” schtick.

… I can see it, but I agree with you, Willem Dafoe would be an excellent choice. Of course, David Niven would have been ideal.

But his head is so perfectly shaped for the role …. Give him some elevator shoes and a copy of “Training Day” and we are good to go!
I really think he looks the part. I’m not really familiar with his work outside of Watchmen and the Freddy trailer but i’m interested in giving him a shot at it.
Since when does size matter? Logan and Jackman aren’t the same size but I see no one complaining about him being Wolverine. :p
I think this has be debunked. I’m sure he’d do a good job though.
I just realized he kinda looks like Dan Castenella.

He’s short enough, maybe he’s one of the Guardians instead.
I always though Tim Blake Nelson wouldn’t be half bad.
