Some of you may remember the brouhaha surrounding David Goyer’s Supermax film project that was supposed to feature Oliver Queen locked away in a maximum security prison surrounded by the DC villains that he put there. The latest description of the film doesn’t quite sound like Goyer’s original premise.
The story takes place in a Maximum Security Prison for the Super-Natural as a skilled guard must join forces with a lethal inmate after a riot ensues in order to fight his way through various monsters and mad-men in order to survive.
Doesn’t sound like an Ollie Queen movie to me. So without an Ollie, does that mean the villains and monsters won’t be recognized DC villains either? Shooting for the film is set to begin in the early part of 2010.

Well that kinda sucks. It sounded like it had the posibility to be one of themore unique superhero movies.
Does anyone remember the Green Arrow stories where he did go to jail? It was late 70’s.early 80’s. I want to say it was in World’s Finest or Adventure Comics.

I second that. It could really have stood out from the mass of superhero films that have gotten a bit formulaic in the last years (with some exceptions).
it may end up an ok film, but I am no where near as exited. Too early to say “fail”, but it’s going in with a heavy point deduction now…
Meh. I am actually more likely to see a random action film than I am to go see a movie that seems to discard everything but the name from a given existing super-character…

Doesn’t “Lethal Inmate” kind of describe Ollie so long as he has his bow?

yeah its two different movies. i guess from here it is who gets more done quicker. however i read somewhere that the superhero movie is taking the supernatural movie to court
