And not to nitpick, but HOW is this not a 5 star book? I don’t really need a response, but in my humble opinion (which by saying it makes it SO not humble don’t you think? it’s like saying, “I don’t mean to be rude but…”) this book was flawless. Perfect art, perfect characterization (esp. Xander), creepy moment ( little kid Vampires? Uck!), funny moments, sex references, Buffy in her PJ’s (drool…love you Buffy…I chew cinnamon gum….could have been me…), Giles, etc. I really think this was a perfect issue. I cannot think of how to make it better without making it NC17 and co-starring me!

Honestly? Because last issue was a 5 star book, and I found it to be unquantifiably more touching than this one... Plus, I don't want to be a Buffy whore (though, apparently, you do.)

Also: you say it's a 5 star book, and you are WRONG, Sir! WRONG!!!

Nice Sunny D Swim Team shirt on Xander, love the call backs. Also, a big thanks for reviewing these books, I love the show, and love the reviews.

Did anyone else notice that they seemed to go out of the way to have Xander make sure that Buffy knew that he 'wasn't' checking her out. As a guy, I know what we say and why we say it, and when a guy says that he isn't checking you out, it means that he was. And that's the third(?) time they've referenced Xander being attracted to Buffy in more then a friend way. Don't tease us! I always though Xander, as the everyman, was always a good fit for Buffy.

Also, I know they've rarely touched on it, but what are the power rankings in the Buffyverse? How can one slayer beat the crap out of another? (Baring, of course, training) All I know is that Slayers are slightly more powerful than vamps. (I think Angel said that once) Gods are more powerful than slayers (Glory, Jasmin) But can one slayer be more powerful than another? I'd love a power chart, or a power meter, much like they had in the beginnings of DBZ :)

This was a fantastic issue. Faith is my favorite character from the series as well. Faith also showed up in Angel the TV Series in seasons 1 and 4. I don't know why but the Slayers in Angel were portrayed in a more powerful manner. I mean, in Angel Season 1 Faith was throwing Angel around as if he were a rag doll, LITERALLY! Faith also fell from a third or second story height and apparently suffered no damage.

Looking at future covers of Buffy Season 8, it appears that Faith and Buffy throw-down again. This should be interesting. I HOPE THEY DON'T KILL FAITH OFF.

Precognitive dreams have always been a part of the Slayer Package, including in the crap movie. It may seem like a writing crutch (how do we get her to the warehouse? I know! A DREAM!!!) but it makes sense that she would get a flash to know where to fight and how to win. Throughout the series dreams were a crucial element. The interactions between Faith and Buffy at the end of Season 3 and the Finale of Season 4 in particular stand out as examples.

Anyway, fantastic book. Great review. This is easily the best book on the market if you are a fan of the Buffyverse. If you weren't this is still one of the 5 best books on the market.
