Well I didn’t think the series was that bad, but because it was strung out for so long, I did lose interest.  The big reveal at the end did have me wondering “WTF?” After all, unless you knew there was a big New Gods story coming down the pipe, a reader could be seriously messed up.  And there is the little matter of knowing who Granny Goodness is in the first place – something many new readers of DC comics might not know about.  I give the series 2.5 out of 5 Stars, but that is nothing compared to the beating series writer Will Pfeifer is taking over at his blog site.

Ouch!

So what did you think of Amazons Attack?

Damn. I agree with how bad the series was. But the stuff on Pfeifer’s blog is fierce. Just goes to show what happens when you mess with a character people care a lot about it. (“What? You’re already reacting to ‘One More Day’?” he said frantically…)

It’s a shame because I’m really big on Pete Woods. But I just couldn’t bring myself to get another issue after the first. Maybe I’ll get them out of the quarter bin at a con or something.

  • I thought… “Meh.” I actually only bought issue #1, read the others off the stands, and didn’t think I missed a thing.

  • I think that the simple act of sending those issues back could have more an impact with a publisher than all the internet complaints could. The publishers always say that they understand that the buyers dollar is important to them, and to send back 15-20 dollars worth of books because your unhappy with them is a big statement.

My wife bought the issues through the Supergirl/Wonder Girl issue. Glad we didn’t waste anymore money.

it may not have been epic, but you got to give props to Will for the twist ending. I didn’t see that one coming.
