From David Marcus to Jericho, fictional characters who have those thick but tight curly do's--natural or permed, and ESPECIALLY blond guys--sometimes get this image that they unfortunately can't shake. It's a variant of the "White Man's Fro," which normally simply looks ridiculous...the tighter and shinier (and blonder) the curls are, however, the more suspicious seems to be raised. Either way, as a wise man once said, "the heart wants what it wants." Of course, the wise man who said that ended up sleeping with the underage adopted daughter of his ex-wife, but hey... As the only gay Legion fan who never got a gay vibe off of the character ever, the message was always confusing to me with that plot point.
