Is there really any reason for this except " Black is sexier and read and blue are too cartoonish"? The Electric Blue/Orange costume from the '90s looks mor iconic than this. Look, I know the all black thing worked for the X-Men movies, but were talking about an icon here. This man's color scheme has been known for 70+ years now, there's no need to change it to something so generic and unmemorable. Admittedly, its not the owrst costume for him, but come on, the man has access to alien tech and has fought alongside brightly colored heroes already. You'd think he'd have a little more creativity. and if you're going for a Kryptonian loo or motif, why not just have him wear a variant on Jor-El's costume from the 1970's Superman movie? It may be a little to angelic, but it would at least make sense and you could use the angelic look to at least try one story where Clark is seen as something of an angelic figure and it goes so over the top he realizes that every decision he makes will affect his modus operandi as a superhero and a a leader. P.S. To the costume designer who thought this costume was a good idea, look up Project Rooftop on Google. Any of the designs for the Superman costume there are AT LEAST a liitle more creative.
