I really really really don’t like reporting on the death of comic creators, journalists, and others in the industry. It is just a huge bummer that brings everyone down, which is why I didn’t make a big deal of it yesterday.
So instead of going on about what a tragedy it is to lose a talented artist like Mike, I suggest everyone check out his sketch blog site and rejoice in his talent.
Next to Humberto Ramos’s work on Impulse and Flash, I like Mike’s work best on those titles.

Wait… when did this happen?
Oh, man… I loved ‘Ringo’s work, and always heard he was a nice guy. It’s a shame to hear news like this.
Bummer.
Him, Ramos and Madureira are pretty much what got me into comics to begin with.
It was Wieringo’s work on the Flash that got me reading that title in the 1990s, and I have more consecutive issues of that book than any other. According to Wikipedia he only pencilled that book for a little over a year. The covers only a little longer. Seemed like it was a lot more than that. . .
Sad to hear of his death, and only 44.
One of the industries’ best…I always felt he should go into animation with his clean style…
