Here’s another favorite artist – J. Scott Campbell offering up his interpretation of Red Sonja.
A Ren Sonja sketch I just did at Wondercon a few weeks ago. 11″x17″ pencil with marker finishes. total time spent on piece, between an hour to an hour and 1/2. It’s somewhat uncommon for me to be this elaborate with a sketch at a con, but this was a special circumstance.

J.Scott is a great artist … it’s just a shame that he’s so whipped.
I enjoy his art more than most any artist I know. He is also Megan Fox’s favorite artist (along with the late Michael Turner).
Granted, that may not signify him as a great artist…but it gets my attention. Since marketing seems to determine success more than talent, it will only help his career.
The Red Sonja piece is very nice. It doesn’t seem like it would require as much time as it took to complete it but, either way, most enjoyable.
Campbell is a master of using curves in his artwork to create beauty, grace, and appeal even in a static pose. This piece is no exception.
Her thigh is nearly twice the size of her midsection.
The woman will literally snap in half in a highwind.
