I doubt the coming event in the 616 is going to be as universe ending as in Ultimate universe, but Norman Osborn is set to reveal is master plan for Marvel in 2010, and it begins with The List series.

After seeing what they allowed Loeb to do to the once-beloved Ultimate Universe, there’s no shock left to give. I’m now worried they’re capable of allowing any crazy thing to happen, just to see what sticks.

Wait, all of a sudden this is a miniseries? So there is going to be crossover between the issues despite the differing creative teams? So much for enjoying the issues to titles I get and ignoring the others without any problems…

“The List” are a bunch of one-shots each featuring a specific character or team, not a mini-series. Think of them as an annual. For example, the DD: List issue takes place after #500, but before #501.
With all due respect, I don’t buy that. It’s an “8 issue limited series” per the solicitation. An 8 issue series with a cohesive storyline is an event. Also, the fact that the repercussions will undoubtedly play out in the regular titles does make it a crossover, in my opinion.
I suspect Samson and Brian McQueary are both right. Marvel will solicit it as an 8-issue limited series to capture the dollars of completists but, with different creative teams on each issue its unlikely to really be a cohesive storyline… sorta like the recent Young Avengers Presents. I suspect the underlying story is pretty much, “Norman Osborn is a moustache-twirling, type of bad guy with nefarious plans for your character/team… remember, he’s a businessman but he’s also CRAAAZY, so whatever you’ve got cooked up should be clever, manipulative, but obviously wrong/evil.”
I am not hating Marvel Comics stories right now but I hope the Osborn stuff wraps up soon. Despite the interviews w/ editors and marketing, Osborn hasn’t really come across as a complex character.
