For some reason I thought James “Lo Pan” Hong died some time ago. However Major Spoilers friend James Deckert snapped Lo Pan at the San Diego Comic-Con during the Blade Runner Panel.

James Hong also appeared at the Balls of Fury panel and pleased the crowd with several Lo Pan poses. And yes, I am aware of the irony of Collector’s Pair of Dice James Deckert showing up at a Blade Runner panel…

According to IMDB, he’s only 78. It’s weird, because he’s been playing characters who seem to be ancient for something like 20 years. :)
Oh yeah, there are pictures and accounts of Hong at the show standing up and referring to himself as Lo Pan and doing magical hand gestures from Big Trouble. Good stuff.
Maybe you were thinking of Victor Wong, who played Egg Shen? He died about 5 years ago. With him and Mako gone, only Lo Pan remains living amongst the great sorcerors of the East…but that is as it should be, for Lo Pan is immortal!!!!
Mark, I too saw the hand gestures in question. I had no love for Balls of Fury until I saw that, and the fact that Patton Oswalt also has a bit part. I hope that someday BTiLC will get the love it so rightfully deserves.
LOL! He was in a recent episode of “Bones’, how could you think he was dead? (I’m joking)
I’ve never seen an episode of Bones :( But James Hong rocks :)
