6:30–7:30 The Clockwork Girl: From Concept to Comic and Beyond. Sean O’Reilly, Kade, and Kevin Hanna, 16 Miles to Merricks, released The Clockwork Girl back in 2007 and the comic book series has gone on to be collected as a hardcover winning two awards, The Moonbeam Award for Top Children’s Graphic Novel and Foreward Magazine’s Top Graphic Novel of the Year and has received funding for feature film development. Sean and Kevin will discuss how they came up with the concept, the risks and rewards of self-publishing, and will showcase a very short teaser of The Clockwork Girl animated film.
