What are superheroes like when they take off their masks and drop their “heroic” persona? It is a common theme found in many comic books today. In fact, some books are based solely around this question, and they all have varying degrees of success. One of the more noteworthy examples of this is the 1987 run of Justice League (International), created by the living legend Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis. In it, the comic showed the reader the politics, the in-fighting, and ultimately the humor that is unleashed behind closed JL headquarters’ doors. Sounds like a great sitcom, right? That's exactly what CBS thought.

Games You should be Playing: (New) World of Darkness

I have always been amazed at how isolated tabletop gaming groups can be. Since I started role playing I have met people who have never played anything other than second edition D&D, likewise I've seen groups who play Vampire LARP exclusively. There is very little in the way of a unifying culture for gamers, whereas every sci-fi enthusiast has probably seen an episode of Star Trek there are gamers who have never played a game of Dungeons & Dragons. This, in and of itself, is not an issue, the problem is that, as with all isolated pockets of society, myths and stigmas begin to develop. The kids playing Paranoia think D&D is too simplistic, the kids playing D&D think the guys playing World of Darkness are pretentious, and nobody understands what the hell the Nobilis kids are doing. So in an effort to combat gamer bias I'd like to tell you about some of the games that are out there, waiting to take you to brand new experiences.

She’s a grown woman, and you’re probably right to be guilty about whatever it is you seem to be thinking. :)

It’s (understandably) a bit more modest than what Carrie Fisher had to wear, and I imagine it took more time than I really want to consider, but it’s impressive (and remarkably accurate) work, Victoria.

There’s the direct link. Still though. They don’t put any mature content up there usually. And if they do, then they always tag it with NSFW (not safe for work). But still … that stuff is once in a blue moon and it’s always something relevant to what they were discussing during the broadcast.

Congrats to Victoria! I wonder what the material (that isn’t material) is – Fimo, metal, plastic?
