Feh… More likely, it’s what Alex Ross’ mind thinks that character should have been like. :) Either way, I’m on board. I’ve always liked Green Lama and The Flame’s costumes.

Well it is indeed the Samson of Fox Feature Comics.

Most comic book “Samson” heroes are inspired by the biblical character. Fox Feature Comics’ Samson was a distant relative of his namesake and his powers were a result of that ancestry. The biblical character also had no eyes so it would make sense for his ancestor share a similar fate and put on a blindfold.

Samson from Fox Features Comic didn’t wear a blindfold, but Mighty Samson did…

Of course, this then begs the question of the Blue Beetle. Obviously the character in the upper right is based on him (and The Flame, Samson, and BB appeared together in Fox’s “Big 3″ comic.) What are they gonna call him?

(Silly trivia: When AC Comics lost the rights to the Charlton characters, Blue Beetle’s place was taken by Scarlet Scorpion…)

Black Terror is indeed in the black suit, Green Lama above him. Yellow suit and red cape is The Flame, the boomerang guy is Daredevil (the original), the woman in the hat to his right is Miss Masque, I believe that the bow and arrow guy is The Arrow, in the upper left is the vilainous Claw, the green-skinned head in the background is probably The Face, the purple cape could be The Owl, and even I’m in the dark about the man with the blindfold at bottom left.

It should be noted that most of these guys (since they’re in public domain) have been revived before, and that Miss Masque & Black Terror were simultaneously in print by AC Comics and by America’s Best Comics in ‘Terra Obscura.’
