One final thing...

Universal did not have anything with the original production. It was a collaboration of Black Rhino Productions, Columbia Pictures Corporation (now owned by Sony) and Delphi Productions.

Also, Universal Studios Florida did not open until 1990. The Ghostbusters and Men In Black attractions where some of the licensed movies used for the park. The Ghostbusters Spooktacular live stage show ran from 1990 to 1996, when it was replaced by Twister...Ride or Die.

Technically, it is the REAL UNIVERSAL STUDIOS car, but NOT the SCREEN USED Ghostbusters MOVIE car.

Dunno why this is bugging me so much, but I think I got it figured out...

I belive this is the car from the old Universal Studio Theme Park attraction, not the original from the movie. The title saying Universal Studios Florida would seem to uphold that. I would almost bet that if you saw the full title, that the date would be within a year or so before that attraction opened up.

The real Ecto-1 (there was only one made for the movie) was restored by Sony and is being used for the promotion. That would make this a replica, and not the original.

The company that restored the original for Sony was Cinema Vehicles out of North Hollywood California. www.cinemavehicles.com

Okay, now maybe I can forget about this!

It's not uncommon for there to be more than one version of a car (or any prop), when making a movie or TV show. Heck the Dukes of Hazzard destroyed so many Dodge Chargers that they had to save money by using a model to make jumps in the last season.

Also there's the fact that there was more than one movie, increasing the likelihood that more than one "official" car exists.

If I were the collector, I would hod on to it for at least a year until the new movie is closer to release.

So this is suppoed to be the actual car? Are they sure? If you watch the special stuff on the recent Ghostbuster Blu-Ray, they show the car being restored by Hollywood Cars (I belive that was the name) and that it was getting ready for a big promotion (the video game and blueray release).

Add the fact that it is under the Replica/Kits section of Ebay, and I would be real wary of this. The listed phone number is for a of well know car collector, and that fella has a repo-Adam West Batmobile.

I'd just be real careful, sa'll I'm saying. ;-)
