the true gem of reading Countdown is finally knowing the full potential of the character that is Monarch. A true Darkseid in the making, if done right.

So basically we have Monarch and Anti-Monitor as the bad asses... so which one of them is acting under the power of Darkseid? or will we be seeing a Darkseid vs Monarch vs Anti-Monitor match-up, like the Spectre vs Anti-Monitor fight we saw in the original Crisis?

There are, indeed, a lot of problems with continuity, given that the last time we saw Harley she was a member of the Six with Deadshot, and he was on the outs with the Society. Since his dialogue intimates that it was "the community" (read: The Secret Society) that sent them (and isn't Multiplex dead?) then there's a missing story there as well.

I'm not enjoying Countdown much at all... Certainly bits of it are interesting, but the pacing feels off, the dialogue is pretty pedestrian, and it feels like they're trying to top themselves... It's piecemeal story-telling fairly screams "multiple writers," and the timeline issues are distracting as heck to the continuity cop in my head. Still, they promise that Karate Kid will be important to the book, so I have hope... :)

Ah, gotcha. A little confused about the timeline myself, didn't mean to come across as rude about it. Great website, by the way.

this is all so confusing. countdown, amazons attack. when exactly are they taking place?! i want answers DC and i want them now! but Harley is back so im 50/50 about it. Jimmy Olsena hero? its like watching Aunt May become the "Golden Oldie" again but without the character depth.

Yes, Amazons Attack has already been addressed in Countdown, however, that doesn't mean all of the storylines we are seeing take place during that conflict. Perhaps I should have worded the review to say the Holly and Rouges story haven't aligned with Amazons Attack. There are a lot of continuity problems with this series and the goofed up timelines of when each story takes place is confusing at times.

Wasn't the Amazons Attack storyline already addressed in Countdown 46/45, when Washington D.C. is in ruins, and Forerunner shows up?

Killing Bart Allen (formally Kid Flash and Impulse) was stupid and pointless. I don't know what the fuck is going on in the DCU, but it feels like the editorial staff has been writing stories with a dart board. This latest mistake has lead me to jump off the Countdown series. I'm waiting on Wonder Woman to get good and giving the new Flash a try, but god, DC's books the past few years have become nearly unreadable.
