“Hey Bart, I see your doodle…”
--by Stephen Schleicher
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Simpsons Movie, scheduled to be released July 27, will feature Bart Simpson showing his goods during a naked skateboarding scene.
After a series of scenes where strategically-placed extras and props protect his modesty, the audience gets a full view of his private parts through a gap in a hedge.
Series creator Matt Groening, speaking to the audience after the clips were screened, said he expected complaints.
“In America there’s someone willing to pretend to be offended by everything and so we annoy people and that’s part of the appeal,” he said. “It’s to entertain people and also to annoy a certain segment of the audience as well.”
Well this should certainly get everyone all excited about nothing. While I love the Simpsons, the television series has really tanked since Conan O’Brian left many years ago. It also sounds like the creators are going for a lot of shock value that they couldn’t do on television, ala South Park: Bigger, Badder, Uncut. There’s no word if audiences will see the Full Monty, or will have to use their imaginations through pixelated censorship. If we do get to see some full frontal, it will be the first time in a PG-13 rated movie.

The scene was very clever. His ‘doodle’ was scene, but not in context with his whole body there by finding a loophole in the PG 13 rating.
