Loeb owes a LOT to Tim Sale. I enjoyed this book and The Long Halloween, but really more for Sale.

Dull, uninspiring stuff. Not enough plot to stand on its own, even with Tim Sale (as usual) providing the back-up, and - unlike their previous work on Batman - not as peppered with scenes blatantly ripped off from Mario Puzo & Francis Ford Coppola, so not as many people were fooled into thinking that it was worth reading.

You've heard it said that "There Is No Such Thing As A Good Jeph Loeb Story"? This is that story.
