I'm not sure what age he was (none of their ages are actually specified at any time in the cartoon meaning your guess is as good as mine) when his father, Dr. Mar Londo, took him and moved to to the Jungle planet Rawl so that he could conduct inhumane experiments on the local wildlife, his experiments with DNA left the animals severely mutated and powerful. However Dr. Mar Londo felt that his experiments were never human enough. Conciquently his attention turned to Bren, but surely he wouldn't conduct experiments on his own son!!!" Wrong. Bren was (Probably forcefully) strapped down and Mutated into a large, werewolf like creature. However befor the process could be compleeted Bren escaped into the Jungle... Enter the Legion and the cartoon pics up the story from there ^^ I myself cannot help finding the romance between TW and Light Lass exceptionally creepy, because in the cartoon Ayla doesn't appear untill the second season and when she does she's like... 6 years old (I won't go into this here... it's complex) Course i thing TW goes perfectly with Phantom Girl, Ultra Boy isn't even a factor as he doesn't appear... wait... *Thinks hard* Yea he does... but it's only once and it's only briefly... The version from the Giffen era used to annoy the living hell out of me-- they played up his maladjusted buffoon side too much for me.
