*Kaboom!* Any real expectations for this movie. The Joes look like they’re supposed to be in a Halo movie or something.

LOL…check out the baronnesses magically-vanishing-then-turning-into-a-pair-of-shades glasses – its pretty bad when you can spot two continuity errors just in the trailer…and as for those suits…

Wow you guys were expecting waaaay too much… And as far as i can tell only the robot suits seem to be a problem. Everything else is as bad as it should be..but hey what do i know i never saw the show.
Since they made this movie politically correct by getting rid of the REAL AMERICAN HERO, I believe that it is going to suck, like everything else that is politically correct. No flavor just bland tasteless goop.
That made me so sad. I was such a huge GI Joe mark in my youth, and now this!! Well at least they are releasing the DVDs this summer.

It’s not supposed to be good, it’s supposed to be fun. If the two intermix, great. If not, I still had fun (I hope).
I’ve said this before, but what made collection GI Joes awesome as a kid was that they didn’t have matching uniforms, each had their own gimmick. Granted some were ridiculous, (see Captain Grid-Iron, Big Lob, or most of the Ninja Force) but it was cool that Shipwreck looked like a sailor and had a parrot. They stripped the individuality of the characters, throwing them in these ridiculous suits … and where is the Baroness’ Eastern European accent? And why the fuck is Storm Shadow rocking out in Spock’s robes from Star Trek IV?

Well folks, this movie is going to suck pretty darn bad. As DDA pointed out above the individuality has been stripped away. When you add that to the ridiculous premise of “GI Joes but with robot suits” and the mid to low level special effects (the running down the hall scene reminded me of wolverines’ claws in the bathroom mirror) and also to the fact these robot suits themselves are completely stupid looking you too will come to the conclusion that by all rights this movie should be horrible. BUT, I am a bit of a masochist and I plan to watch this pile of bantha poodo, or least attempt to, despite the fact that it is crap. Who knows; maybe it’ll be funny or maybe it’ll melt my eyeballs and make me blind, either way i’ll proably be riding the short bus home after its destroyed my mind.
STILL looking forward to the movie! C’mon guys try watching an episode of the cartoon today as an adult and your expectations will be sufficiently lowered for this film. I’m planning to have fun no matter how bad it is. We already know it was never going to be Larry Hama’s best work captured on screen…
The simple answer to this is: UGLY. Ever since the first tv commercial and trailer, there has yet to be a single thing about it that looks good. Way to kill any little vestige of good left from my childhood. As a matter of fact, this may finally be the movie that kills the nostalgia bug that is currently fueling Hollywood at the moment. That may be it’s only redeeming feature.

Cashing in on Iron Man’s success much?
When they first announced this movie I had such high hopes, but my expectations have lowered after each trailer and clip I have seen. It’s a shame they didn’t take a look at what Warren Ellis and company were able to do with “GI Joe Resolute”, which demonstrated just how good this could have been if they’d only taken the subject matter seriously.
