…Why?
I honestly don’t see any appeal to this, or any audience except for people who want to say they’ve read the book and know what it’s about. But there’s still simply no excuse for the appalling Imitation-Greg-Land art and the dialogue made up of scrubbed snippets from Austen’s original text that barely convey any meaning at all except for “ENGLISHERS! THEY TALK WEIRDLY!”
i own the pride and prejudice and zombies book….cant wait to read it…this though i might check out.
Cool idea, but it is ugly as hell to look at.
That superubertotallyrad computer coloring makes it look juicy/slick/techno and too gross. The Cover was awesome, and a total lie, the inside of the book, had none of that charm, or artistic attitude. Liars! (That’s a real pet peeve of mine)
Just seeing the group “shot” of all the Bennet sisters, looking as if they just stepped off the set of the new 90210 was just too wrong. I feel the approached the comic completely the wrong way. Should have been much pastel-ie, way, soft edges, smoother lines. Couldn’t even get past the second page, it made me so angry
Maybe this comic will get “boys” and/or haters of “old timey” books to read Austen, and other “great” works of literature (Nothing will help Silas Marner) and that’s great. But if you love and adore Pride and Prejudice, just for what it is, this comic will just annoy.
