First it was Wolverine, now Variety is reporting the Mexican movie premiere of Star Trek is being grounded due to the swine flu. No word on when the movie will open south of the border, but Paramount is going forward with the May 8th release in 100 other overseas markets.
Until the theaters reopen and the medical epidemic is cleared, the studios could stall more releases as the summer progresses.

Glitch: It’s not hard really, and I’m surprised more sites are doing this with their coverage of the story. Yes, people dying from swine flu is a serious business, but the movie industry (and those reporting on it) are making this out to be the biggest catastrophe to the industry since that incident with Fatty Arbuckle.
Anyone wanna take bets on how long it will take the pricks in H’wood to come knocking on the government door asking for a handout because their businesses are in the crapper?
