Call me old-fashioned. Call me cheap. Heck, call me crazy if you want. (waits to be called any/all of the above) Now, with that outta the way… As much a DCU fan as I am, and as much as I would enjoy kicking some spandex-clad evil heiney…. Unless the monthly “subscription fee” to this game is ZERO dollars, or something like a penny per hour played, I cannot find it in me to fully get behind this whole MMORPGBBQHDTVWTFLOL craze. I have serious problems with buying something and then having to pay more to use it, regardless of HOW MUCH I make use of it over any given timespan. People may come back with the argument that “you have to pay for cable tv, doncha?”, which is true. There is nothing that states I have to use my tv for cable, nor that I have to pay every time I want to use it to watch one of the DVDs I already own. (Yes, I understand electricity ain’t free, but I only pay for as much of that as I actually consume.)

Also, I’m with ‘glitch: don’t aim this at the Wowfans or the Everpeeps. They already have their drug, and addicts are fiercely loyal to their addiction of choice…

Thanks for the heads-up, and videos those do look a bit bland. The graphics and animation are actually not bad looking but if its going to be real time and not turnbased they have to make character animations for getting hit, having a character getting punched and not reacting at all looks dumb.
They should pay more homage to the fighting and brawler genre rather than the typical MMORPG in that regard though i can see why it may behard from a technical standpoint, and they are still working on the alpha.

But it just feels wrong they have to 100 percent real-time or not at all or else its gonna look dumb! Stree Fighter or Fire Emblem there is no middleground…you dont want your game to loose “impact” and “feel” because the character fight like they are from frkn WOW or FF (Catering to those guys wont help they already play and wont convert easily)…In general Super Hero games have been brawlers and Fighters so i guess this is why it bugs me so much.

Im gonna go play Marvel VS Capcom now…..Now Thats a Game!!!

IGN dot com put some videos of the game up a couple weeks ago. I think the end result will probably be a little more polished though, it looks just a tad bland at the moment.
