Brian Michael Bendis has confirmed that the FX network is actively developing a pilot based on the BMB/Michael Avon Oeming Powers series.
“‘Powers’ is in active development as a pilot at FX,” Bendis told MTV. “I just handed in a draft to the network and we’re getting our notes from the network as soon as this thing is over. So next week I’ll get the notes, and as long as they don’t involve sock puppets and some sort of orgy scene that I’m not interested in, then hopefully it will go in the right direction.”
While active development is a long way from post production, it is good a major cable network is looking at a superhero title for its next gritty crime drama series.

Not if Bendis could work on getting out an actual issue of Powers.
FX is a great network for Powers to be on! The Shield which was one of the best shows around can certainly tesitfy to that.
Although I am not looking forward to the whole sex, cussing and barely nude scenes from the network, cause it d0es make for awkward moments when I am watching something on the network with family.
The language is big part of Powers. I do think that FX will do fine with it. I hope that they explore the characters outside the arcs of the comic series. Walker and Pilgrim are great characters. I also hope they take awhile to reveal Walker as being a former superhero.

Craig Bierko, the guy who played Max Baer in Cinderella Man. He’s mid 40’s but I think he could pull it off. HGH is a hell of a drug.
I doubt she can act, but women’s MMA fighter Gina Carano looks the part.
